Goth Zombie : A Zombie Daily Blast from the Past

Hey Zombie Nation! Well,it's time for another Zombie Daily Blast from the Past. This image was posted way way back but it and four others like it rank amongst my favorite images from the blog. They in fact were part of a custom job that I did for a Swedish skateboard shop called Svart Kult. They are still being sold today. I really enjoyed working on them because they were a bit of a departure from the straight up Zombie Portraits I was doing at the time. See you all tomorrow!

More Zombie Bobble Head Madness

Hey Zombie Freaks! We're quickly coming to the end of another month and we're also coming to the end, albeit not as quickly, of the fun Zombie Bobble Head series. Many people have greatly enjoyed this series and have let their feelings be known on my Rob Sacchetto fan site on Facebook, via E-mails and even right here on Zombie Daily in the comments section. Thanks! I think that another run of these bobbling dead heads are in order for the next Zombie Daily run. But for now please enjoy these.

Zombie Chase Card - The Mechanic

Hey Zombie Nation! I may have mentioned on occasion a friend of mine, Jonathan Maberry... he's a brilliant zombie/horror writer that has been cool enough to feature my work in three of his zombie books. Well, here's an excerpt from his latest, Rot and Ruin. This is a character design that I did for a 'zombie chase card'. This is one of five that you can find at the back of this new novel. Pick it up if you get a chance. It's a great read! I also zombiefied Jonathan for his book jacket cover and was written in as an 'erosion artist', named... Rob Sacchetto! In the book, I paint people as zombies. Go figure...

More Malevolent Mutant Zombies

Hey Zombie Nation! As I've stated in the past, some mutated zombies develop into even more repugnant versions of festering flesh, while others form more advantageous modifications to their humanoid structure. In this case, the mutated zombie has altered it's shape to preform better in capturing humans for consumption. It can take longer strides to move faster and turn sharper, and it has increased it's reach in order to more efficiently capture prey hiding in hard to access places. It's throat capacity has also expanded in order to consume larger human chunks.

Zombie Girl goes to College

Hey Zombie Nation. As much as I enjoy drawing zombie babes and mutants virtually nothing is more fun for me to illustrate than zombie heads. This, along with the prior Zombie Candle Head and others, are from a long series of drawings specializing in living dead craniums. These are the same size as my regular single Zombie Portraits (9X11),but unlike them I need not adhere to any physical likeness so I really get to explore the stages of decay or massive trauma. Wheeeee!

Bloody Black Bikini

Greetings Zombie Nation, your friendly neighborhood zombie artist Rob Sacchetto here again with another in the mighty throngs of the undead. Zombie Babe Week seems like it was weeks ago,so I had to spice up the old blog with another walking dead damsel. In my line of work it isn't ofter I get to draw the iconic female form,so I hope you'll excuse me if sometimes I get a little over the top with the Zombabes. Enjoy!

Zombie Stew 2 Part 5

Hey Zombie Peeps from around the globe! Here is the fifth installment of the giant Zombie Stew drawing. I'll be posting the entire illustration very soon as it will be available as a laminated poster in our soon to be revamped Zombie Portraits site. And speaking of Zombie Portraits, those of you who will be ordering one for Christmas for that special someone who is a horror fan,get your order in as soon as possible because there will be a slight price increase to compensate for art material costs. It is a necessary evil, but to date it has been the one and only one we've had in four years.
We will also be offering package deals on some great new merchandise. I'll let you all know when the revamp happens. Until tomorrow...

The Fashionable Dead

Greetings Zombie Nation. As I've mentioned in the past,a lot of the zombie images I draw come from photos in magazines and several other photo reference sources. Sometimes I zombify a photo so much that it is barely recognizable in the illustration. On some occasions though, and in this case to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that most fashion models are zombies, I did very little to change the original photo to zombify it. See you all tomorrow.

New Zombie Bobblehead

Hey Zombie Nation! It's time for another Zombie Bobble Head. This charming little boil head was one of the later ones drawn in the series and actually looks as though his giant head is weighing him down. I still haven't ruled out doing more zomb-bobbles but since the initial series was about thirty or so,I may not get to them again for a little while. Enjoy!

Red

Hey Zombie Nation. I just picked up the new version of "The Crazies" the other day. I'm not quite sure what to make of it as I haven't watched it yet,but I kind of assumed that it's a zombie movie of some sort from the trailer. Maybe not the living dead type zombies, but perhaps more like the "Rage Virus" zombies from "28 Days Later". Anyway,it looks pretty good so I hope I enjoy it. I'll let you know after I've seen it,however,if you are a big zombie fan,and you're on this site, you've probably already saw it. Anyway,I hope you today's image. see you tomorrow.

More Mutant Zombies

Greetings Zombie Nation! Today we present to you another in the series of Mutant Zombies I've created just for this site. As you can see this particular abomination has a lot of mouths to feed, which are probably due to his absorbed victims attempting to break out of their rotting prison of flesh. In order to dispatch new prey on which to feed, this mutated zombie has developed club like arms consisting of hard bone and calcified tissue enabling it to smash open skulls to more efficiently access brain matter. This clearly represents a mutation beneficial to the zombie rather than simply a further aberration to it's original form. Enjoy!

Zombiewood Weekly Outtake

Hey Zombie Nation! I guess that we forgot this fun zombie ad that was to originally be run in Zombiewood Weekly when we did our "Zombiewood Weekly Week here on Zombie Daily" We came up with a bunch of fake zombie themed ads that you would typically find in an entertainment magazine and of course, due to space, not all of them could be used. This was one that Andrea came up with and put together based on some previously posted Zombie Daily images. I really loved it but unfortunately it didn't get in. Hope you enjoy it.

Casual Friday Zombie

Hey Zombie Nation! Well it's Friday, and what better way to end the work week than to wear your stinky grimy blood soaked clothes to work. Today's image depicts what a zombie may look like walking to work on a Friday in a living dead infested world. He seems to be in no particular hurry,he's got his hand in his pocket and he's probably had his morning victim. A very uncharacteristic appearance for the generally violent and relentlessly hungry living dead.

Zombie at the Door : A Blast From the Zombie Past

Hey Zombie Nation,it's that time of the week again, time for another gruesome past post from the Zombie Daily vaults. I don't do many fully realized images on zombie daily simply because of time constraints but that doesn't mean that every once in a while I can't slip one in here and there. This really was one of my favorites from way back. I just love the balance of detail vs. the solid black areas and the sheer immediacy of the subject. It really feels jarring to me,like it was a freeze frame from real life. 'Hope that you all like it too. Until tomorrow Zombie Nation!

Moon Faced Zombie Bobble Head

Greetings Zombie Nation! It's time again for another fun Zombie Bobble Head or "Zomb-Bobble" as I like to call them. Today's Zomb-bobble illustrates one of the main reasons that I love zombies so damn much , they can be interpreted in many many different ways. Even if this particular zombie had been human at some point he would have looked quite freakish to begin with, add the fact that he's all rotted-up and a bobble head to boot, and you've got yourself one creepy critter on your hands. But it all works! I'll keep doing weird zombie drawings as long as you keep comin' back to see 'em! enjoy!

Candle Head Zombie

Hey Zomboys and girls! Here is another example of me testing out "Zombie Gore Effects" on a common head template for future use on my Zombie Portraits. Typically what I'll do is simply render the basic structure of a head shape and then go to work on it in different ways to test out the effectiveness of varying gore techniques. I'll try to render more effective looking boils, use different mediums for veins to see how they look, play around will eye distortion or discoloration, etc. It's all done to add more living death to the hundreds of Zombie Portraits I do each year. Sometimes the results are completely un-showable,but in this case I decided to post the resulting abomination. Enjoy!

Long Dead

Hey Zombie Nation! I Hope that you guys liked yesterdays mutant zombie image,I've got more of those to come. Today's image is one that has been kicking around for a while that I just recently finished. It turned out that I used a really crappy paper stock to do it on that just didn't gel with my inks so it seemed to take forever to finish even though it is only an 8X10 size. I do like the way that the eyes turned out though. 'Hope you like it too. See you all tomorrow!

Muscleheaded Mutant Zombie

Here it is Zombie Nation, the first of many new mutant zombies! In some cases, the zombie virus can mutate the victim depending on his or her personal physical makeup. In this freakish creatures case the zombie virus interacted with the victims' steroid enhanced body producing mounds of infected muscle tissue. Sometimes the mutation can be beneficial to the zombie, while other times it can simply produce freakish abominations as we will see in the coming weeks. Enjoy!

Games we play!

Hey Zombie Nation! Here's an image inspired by a game I play with my nephews called 'hide and go boo!' Of course, it's not as creepy as this in real life!
And speaking of schoolchildren, there's a new course being offered at Baltimore U. which is essentially a Zombies 101 study of zombies in pop culture! AOL News' new senior zombie correspondent Tony Deconinck contacted both me and my author friend Jonathan Maberry for a quote about this latest development! Click here to read more about the course, and feel free to instruct them to make The Zombie Handbook: How to Identify the Living Dead and Survive the Coming Zombie Apocalypse as required reading!

Zombie Stew 2 part 4

Hey Zombie Nation! Here's another selected area of infected ghouls from the big Zombie Stew 2 drawing that I completed recently. I will be unveiling the entire drawing soon as it will be offered as a laminated place mat along with Zombie Stew 1 and the very fun Zombie Canadian flag on my Zombie Portraits site just in time for Halloween and Christmas! These items were a huge hit at the Festival of Fear this past month as people said that they had never seen such a strange, unique zombie product before. I just thought it'd be cool to laminate these posters but they do function perfectly as place mats. Either way,I'm glad people loved them. 'Till tomorrow zombie fiends!

Snapshot of the Living Dead

Hey Zombie fans! Back with another simple black and white rendering of the festering dead. As this year is nearing it's end,I,m going to have to step up my efforts in working on the big zombie comic of mine if I hope to have it out next year. That and the increased demand for Zombie Portrait orders may mean, sadly that I'll have to put Zombie Daily on hiatus for a while. But remember,I'm only doing it so that I can draw more zombies! Also I like to think that every time I relaunch ZD,it gets better. Ok,hope that you liked today's image, see you tomorrow.

1950's Zombie Deli

Hey Zombie Nation! Remember a few weeks ago when I posted the Deli of the Living Dead? Well, here is the same deli but from a 50's perspective. This was just another fun commissioned job through my Zombie Portraits website and it was an absolute blast to do. I really wanted that retro feel to come through,so I even colored it in sort of a sepia monochromatic black and white fusion style making it appear to be an old photograph, and of course I changed the menu boards to reflect a more zombie friendly palette. Hope that you enjoy today's image and do check out my Zombie Portraits site for some new, really cool news and new offers coming soon!

Running for a Meal Zombie Bobble Head

Hey Zombie Nation! Back to ugly blood and boils with another Zombie Bobble Head illustration. Feels like it's been a long time since I posted a really gross walking corpse after all of that living dead eye candy from Zombie Babe Week. As much as I love drawing the babes,I equally love drawing the really rotten, decomposed, and hideous brain chompers too and I've got some doozies coming up for you real soon. In the meantime, please enjoy this "Zombobble"

Skinsuit Model : A Zombie Daily Flashback

Greetings and happy Labour Day Zombie Nation! Well, today is the last day for Zombie Babe week here at Zombie Daily, and I wanted to cap it off with a nice full color favorite from a past post. Not to worry, however, there will still be plenty of zombie honeys in Zombie daily's near future so keep checking back for more brain munching beauties from beyond the grave. Hope you love today's post. See you all tomorrow.
