Zombieman Sketchbook Preview

Hey Zombie fans, this is an idea I've had kickin' around for a while about doing a comic strip of a zombie superman type character called Zombieman. It would obviously be tongue in cheek and,I think,a lot of fun. Let me know what you think...

Zombies on Fire!

Zombie fighting tip #27: Do not use fire weapons like flame throwers or Molotov cocktails on zombies in close proximity. The last thing you want is a hungry ball of fire coming after your brain! Sound Waves Kill Zombies!

Did you know.....Certain precise sound waves aimed with great care, are enough to constitute a head shot and thus kill a zombie? It's true, and it is one of many ways not widely known about zombie warfare. This and many more rare facts are included in The Zombie Handbook:How to Identify the Living Dead and Survive the Coming Apocalypse. Pick it up for a loved one for Christmas and save a life.

Keep on Zombie-ing

Hey Zombie fans, here is another image that was originally set to be used in the Zombie Handbook. Well, actually, there were many photos taken of friends that were to be used for the book. They didn't make it in,but they were all so good that I had to zombify them anyway. I kind of liken this image to the Robert Crumb, "Keep on Truckin'"drawing. Enjoy!

Zombie Madness

Hello everyone out there in Zombieland! I've really been putting in the long hours doing Zombie Portraits for the Christmas rush so I apologize for the tardiness of the posts as of late. The good news is that everyone on earth wants to have a loved one illustrated as a zombie this holiday season, which I find awesome! Keep 'em comin'.I hope that you all love today's image and I'll see you all tomorrow with a new one.

Countryside Stroll

Hey zombie friends,Rob here again with more living dead action! As I've mentioned before,I sort of use Zombie Daily as a kind of sketchbook, aside from my actual sketchbook, and,as such,I like to try out different styles of art. This way I can see how a finished piece looks using a style that I normally wouldn't employ. This is a really scribbly sketchy style that I found works well for zombies in particular, mostly because they have a lot of nondescript rot-type details that can be implied by scribbly lines. Let me know what you think!

Zombie Sketchbook 7

Ok Zombie fans, last day for my sketchbook stuff! Well, for a while anyway. If people like it enough I will be glad to bring it back...from time to time. I think that before Christmas I will post one more page though. It's a concept page for a comic strip that I'd like to do,and I'd love to get your feedback on it. See you all tomorrow with new zombie art!

Zombie Sketchbook 6

Alright zombie fans the zombie sketchbook week is almost over. Let me know what you think of the sketchbook stuff. If you would like to see more in the future, let me know. This second last image reminds me a lot of the great Gene Colan style of art. The stuff he did for Tomb of Dracula way way back in a time called The Seventies was really cool and creepy, especially when he drew drac with the black eyeballs! 'Hope you like it. See you all tomorrow!

Zombie Sketchbook 5

Hey Zombie freaks! Rob here! I find that sketchbook "doodles" really let me try out designs that I would normally never get a chance to do in the real world like for a client for product design or a tattoo or something marketable. Of course, when these creations are finished or used on Zombie Daily, people often end up citing them as some of their favorites. I find that very rewarding!

Zombie Sketchbook 4

Hey Zombie fiends! More living dead mayhem from your host Rob Sacchetto! Today is another section from one of the many pages of one of the many sketchbooks that I've kept over the years. probably have twenty five to thirty that I've kept since high school. Aide from being great ways to capture quick ideas they are also a great way to see your artistic growth over the years.Oh,y the way, check out the zombie dinosaur in the bottom right hand corner. I think I'd like to do more of those.

Zombie Sketchbook 3

Another day another zombie image. Here is more from the 'ol sketchbook. The sketchbook is a great breeding ground for ideas. Stuff that goes in doesn't always come out however but a lot of it does end up becoming a finished piece somewhere down the line. Don't be surprised if you see this cartoony zombie become a painted piece someday. Enjoy!

Zombie Sketchbook 2

Hey everyone out there in Zombieland! Rob here with some more sketchbook action! As you can see a sketchbook page can become very cluttered as ideas are drawn out very quickly and altered. But find that to be one of the fun things about it. It doesn't need to be all cleaned and finished or even functional. Keeping it messy releases constraints in your head and I find allows for more creativity.

Zombie Sketchbook 1

Hey Zombiefans! A while back,I mentioned posting some sketchbook pages, well, here they are. A lot of people write in that they would like to see more process work, like how I draw zombies from the ground up,and a lot of times it starts with the sketchbook. This is where a lot of trail and error happens on the way to a finished piece and it is also a great place to just have a lot of fun and try out new concepts. So, for the next week or so I'll be posting sketchbook images for your viewing enjoyment. Let me know what you think.
