New Zombie Snapshot

Hey Zombie fiends!! I used to love the old Swamp Thing comics by Alan Moore. Very fun exiting and scary to read..but another fantastic part of those comics was the art by Stephen Bessette and John Totleben. Their art was rich, detailed and at times beautifully hideous. That comic book in particular was kind of the genesis for DC comics Vertigo line in which artists and writers could expand past the "super hero" genre limitations and explore more sophisticated adult themes. Anyway, all that to say that this particular drawing was inspired by those wonderful illustrators.'Hope you like it!

Zombie Bobo

Who's NOT afraid of clowns!? I know that they're supposed to be all fun-like and stuff but that was, like,in the 50's or 60's or something. Somewhere along the way, they became terrifying, maybe it was Stephen Kings,"It",or it could have been Killer Clowns From Outer Space,or Homer Simpsons' clown bed that he made for Bart that one time, either way,YIKES! Anyway, they make great zombies.I know that I'm not the first to turn clowns into zombies but it's so fun that I've done a bunch. Here's one that I may color and ink,but for now makes a great sketch.-Rob Sacchetto

The Last Grave Buddy

Hey Zombiefans!! Ok,this is the last of the "Grave Buddies"series.I hope that you enjoyed this short little run of reanimated maniacs. I have some more radical ideas that I'd like to share along the same lines as the Grave Buddies' series but with a more tattoo and/or Big Daddy Roth influence. Stay tuned!!

Black Eyed Z

The great thing about zombies is that they are very open to interpretation. There are many styles of zombies,so I will often experiment with different skin tones, degrees of decay detail, physical trauma and in this case,I've blackened out the eyes giving this one a real sense of soullessness.

Zombie Fashion Week 3

Victorias Secret catalogs offer a great wealth of "stunning" images. I'll often use them for the delightful still images that they present as I do with other magazines and such. Plus I like drawing babes, even if they're slightly re-animated.

Rotton Dancer

Here's another fully rendered rotter. She's not much of a dancer but I guess that's what happens when your skin starts to slough off and your tendons stiffen up. These pure and simple ink drawings really let me get down with tons of detail. I especially love the one torn up finger nail.Enjoy!

Hyuk!

Hey everyone! Rob here! Today's image is a comic and comical sort of drawing style that I really love to do. This warped style leaves a lot of room to interpret the physical structure of a given subject and allows for a lot of fun detail. I think that I'd like to explore more of this kind of illustration in the future for Zombie Daily. Let me know what you think...

Legless Poser

Hey,I told you guys that I had more zombabes to offer! Although I am coming to the end of this particular zombie pin up series,I will be doing many more and different ones in the future, and of course more Zombie Fashion Week images lie ahead.

Zombie at the Door

Hey Zombie fans! This was originally going to be a small zombie-head study but,as usual,it kinda got away from me and ended up becoming a full full sized finished drawing. The paper I used had this really great texture to it that lent itself really well to both small detail and great dry brush technique. hope you enjoy it!

Polka Dot Cadaver

This zombabe was named after the band Polka Dot Cadaver. Check out their song Chloroform girl,it's really cool!

Doughnut Hand Zombie

Hey Zombie fans,Rob Sacchetto here again with another friend turned zombie. I like showing all states of decay and this particular zombie is one of those intermediate ones with enough curdled flesh on his face to make him look monstrous. Also,I love blowing holes through hands...guess I've seen it done in movies so much, whenever I'm drawing a zombie with a raised hand I immediately want to see through to the other side. I guess movies really DO make people do violent things...Oh well...

Sitting Pretty

Hey Zombie Fans! Rob Sacchetto with another Zombie Daily posting to ease your craving for the living dead! I love this image! It is again, one of those rare drawings that I find works on every level. The "come hither" look, the flesh hanging off the leg stumps the hands...oh,man,do I love the way the hands turned out,and the fact that she's not really sitting on anything but looks as though she is...I'm really happy to bring my zombie art to all of you. Thanks for clicking. 'See you tomorrow!

Grave Buddy : Speedy

I'm still managing to get a few Zombie Daily drawings done every week despite working on a new Zombie book and fulfilling my duties as Zombie Portraits artist. I love my work! But please send in any requests for zombie images soon so that I can get to them in the event that I have to put Zombie Daily on hiatus for a while. I think that I will do the "Grave Buddy" series as black and white images also.

One to the Chest

Why is it that whenever someone first sees a zombie it is like they've never seen a movie about them before? They always shoot them in the chest... Takes forever for them to figure out they need to aim for the head.

Dead Sexy

Another great black and white image with a very minimalist, but effective background to establish character's placement in a scene. Enjoy.

Finished Pus Head

Well, here it is ,the colour version of the Pus Head. I'm sorry that I'm posting this so late but I had a huge work day and when I went into my files to retrieve the finished version of this drawing I realized that it hadn't been completed yet! DOH!! So, I had to fit it in to today's schedule. In any case I hope that you enjoy this image. It almost looks as though someone has pinned big googly eyes on a rotting "Joker" corpse. Hey,who am I kidding,The Joker cant die,in fact there has been speculation that the chemicals that created him, turned him into a kind of non flesh eating zombie! Hmmmm....

Preliminary Pus Head

Hey zombie fans! Here's another preliminary penciled image that you can see before it gets the color and ink treatment. I think that this one is a little more fleshed out than the Sick Little Monkey 2 that I posted earlier. People have always asked me to show the process and, while sometimes that is difficult and time consuming,I don't mind showing at least the before and after shots. Also,I may scan a few sketchbook pages to show all of you zombie freaks where the ideas for zombie daily come from and even the ones that didn't make it to the final drawing stage.Rob Sacchetto

The Boogey Man Zombie

Hey zombie fans,Rob Sacchetto here with posting number 399. Tomorrow we will be doing a podcast so tune in for some HUUUUGE news!! Today's image is another zombie snapshot This time the hapless victim was my very own brother. I needed some reference shots done for a zombie project and he came by the studio and offered his menacing services. This was one of many living dead poses he had done that I ended up using here and there. It's always a plus if you can work from life. Enjoy!

Color Sick Little Monkey 2

Ok,folks, here's the colour version of yesterdays post. I actually like this version better. I added a lot more detail in the colour version and to be honest the black and white one probably isn't a stellar example of finished pencils. Basically I wanted to show the transition from pencil to finished paints. 'Hope you enjoy this furry little monster.

I will post the color version tomorrow. also, and again,if you have any zombie art suggestions, please leave them in the "comments" section beneath each posting. We are only three zombies away from our 400th post!!

Eye Balls Gone

Yeah, that's the best title I could come up with. Hey,why don't YOU come up with a better one!? Ok,here's another Zombie Snapshot for ya. I think we'll post some photos of the Festival of Fear this week. We actually saw and photographed some real "life" zombies. Stay tuned!

Another Grave Buddy

Sometimes simple little sketches graduate and get the full color treatment like this one which is part of my "grave Buddy" series. Basically all of these GBs started out the same way the zombie from the tutorial was built. I may even do black and white drawings of these guys,as I love to toy with some of my creations all "mad doctor" like.

Zombear

Het zombie fans! Rob Sacchetto here again! Today we have another deadly zombie animal for you, perhaps one of the most predatory, the zombear! If you have The Zombie Handbook, you know just how hard it is to take one of these creatures out! I personally will continue to bring you many more gory beasts in the weeks to ahead, and yes,the Zombie Guinea Pig is coming!!
